These tumours present uniquesurgical challenges due to their proximity to criticalneurovascular structures. Management typically involvesmaximal safe resection as the primary approach. However, in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs),factors like late presentation, higher risks of endocrineand visual complications, frequent recurrence, andpotential for incomplete resection complicate treatment. These challenges are exacerbated by limited access tospecialised expertise and surgical equipment, increasingthe risk of damage during surgery compared to High-Income Countries. This manuscript outlines managementguidelines tailored for LMICs, emphasizing that acombination of surgical resection and chemoradiationtherapy, as advised by a neuro-oncology tumour board, often yields the best outcomes. Keywords: Craniopharyngioma, optic chiasm, pituitarygland, hypothalamus, neoplasms, glandular, epithelial Downloads Full Text Article Published 2024-06-09 How to Cite Syed Ather Enam, Naureen Mushtaq, Muhammad Usman Khalid, Mohammad Hamza Bajwa, Ahsan Ali Khan, Sehar Salim Verani, Anam Tariq, Ahmed Gilani, Bilal Mazhar Qureshi, & Pakistan Brain Tumour Consortium: Authors list at the end of the supplement.
