My Experience With JPMA

Dr. Aisha Mehnaz - Department of Paediatric, Dow Univeristy of Health Sciences, Karachi.

Authors:

My interaction with JPMA started almost two decades back, when my first article was published in 1990. Professor Sarwar Jehan Zuberi, the then Editor was instrumental in encouraging me to write the original paper on Spectrum of Liver disorders in children. It was also the beginning of my interest in Pediatric Hepatology and GI diseases which later made me choose this subject as sub speciality. The published paper was a great boast to me as young Pediatrician to develop interest in research.
Though Professor Zuberi is no longer among us, may Allah rest her soul in peace. The contact I established with JPMA remained, as contributor of articles and as reviewer. I joined later as member of editorial board of JPMA which I am still continuing. I am proud to be member of the team of the esteemed and the oldest indexed journal of Pakistan. The journal though has gone through rough times during economic crises, but has never lost its quality of selected and peer reviewed articles. The present Chief Editor, Dr Fatima Jawwad and her team deserve an applaud for maintaining the standard of the journal. I hope and pray that JPMA will continue to lead the medical journals of Pakistan and will celebrate the golden Jubilee in years to come.
